The Nyback Archive had a special debut screening to celebrate the birthday of Dennis Nyback, who would have been 72 on July 30. The screening, took place on Thursday the 31st with a full house in the archive – starting with a cartoon and an industrial film – and due to more arrivals – moved to the upstairs sanctuary space. Following a pair of stop-motion animations by Portland animator Chel White, a cluster of scopitone music films and a classic pre-new wave French drama from 1934, the evening successfully concluded.
