In mid-February 2025, a group of enthusiastic 16mm film fans banded together to pack up over 4000 films from the Nyback archive and move them across Portland. The new home is next to the non-profit NW Documentary in the basement of the Sunnyside Community Center.

Over the course of a weekend, every film, rack and oddball slice of cinema ephemera was transported and set up for review and organization. It was an incredible team effort.

Moving forward, the Nyback archive will begin the long process of reviewing and cataloging and will start building new programs and opportunities with it.
